About SplitPDF
A fast, private, and free tool for anyone who works with PDF documents.
SplitPDF was built to solve a common frustration: you have a PDF, you only need a few pages from it, and every tool you find either requires you to sign up, pay a fee, or upload your document to a remote server.
We believe document processing should be instant, private, and free. So we built everything to run directly in your web browser using modern JavaScript libraries — no server, no sign-up, no compromise on privacy.
🔒 Your files never leave your device. All PDF processing is done locally in your browser using PDF.js (for rendering) and pdf-lib (for generating the output file).
What you can do
Extract pages
Pull out any specific pages from a large PDF document.
Visual selection
Browse page thumbnails and click to select exactly what you need.
Range input
Type ranges like 1-5, 8, 11-13 for quick bulk selection.
Preview
Review your selected pages before committing to the download.
Technology
SplitPDF is built with vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no heavy frameworks, no build tools. This keeps it lightweight and loads instantly. Under the hood it uses:
- PDF.js by Mozilla — renders PDF pages to canvas thumbnails
- pdf-lib — creates the new split PDF document client-side
- Google Fonts (Fraunces + DM Sans) for typography

SplitPDF does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personally identifiable information to use the tool. We collect no personal data.
3. Analytics & Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics services on this tool page. Google Fonts is loaded from Google's CDN, which may set its own cookies subject to Google's privacy policy. The PDF.js and pdf-lib libraries are loaded from cdnjs.cloudflare.com.
